Hot Tub Christmas Party

“Tis the season to have a holly, jolly hot tub party at your home.

Nothing feels better than keeping warm and toasty in a hot tub from Spa Max, unless you can share your hot tub with some of your closest friends; oh, and beer and food as well. But if you are going to throw a hot tub Christmas party this year, you need to do it the right way. Because let’s face it, you have thrown parties in the past that haven’t rated very high on the fun scale.

But not to worry, Spa Max is here to help. Here is a handy guide on how to throw an epic hot tub Christmas party.

Get Your Tub Squeaky Clean

Your hot tub should shine like the ice at a hockey game just as the Zamboni finishes resurfacing it.

So before your guests arrive for the celebration, clean out your filters, get the water’s chemicals in balance and wipe down the exterior of your hot tub. If you haven’t drained your hot tub in some time, drain the whole thing and fill it back up. While the hot tub is empty, clean the jets.

The last thing you want to have happen is a partygoer notice that your hot tub water is dirty or smells funny. That can be quite embarrassing.

Create a Winter Wonderland

Do your best to create an atmosphere that feels like Christmas. This means spending time and money buying plenty of festive holiday lights, putting a tree next to your hot tub and decorating it and even consider putting wrapping paper around your hot tub to make it look like a big gift. A huge bow will help.

Music

It will be tempting to throw on some Nickelback and Ed Sheeran to entertain your guests, but this is a Christmas party, so keep the music appropriate.

Now, we aren’t saying you need to play Bing Crosby’s White Christmas over and over or loop Barry Manilow’s Christmas album, but you need to play holiday music nonetheless.

You can mix up your Christmas music by throwing in some Mariah Carey, Elvis Presley, The Partridge Family, James Brown, Bob Dylan, Cee Lo and Johnny Cash, all of whom have Christmas albums.

If you really want to get people stoked, play Christmas albums from Twisted Sister, Roseanne Barr, Slim Whitman, Liberace and Charo.
But we highly recommend, even forbid, that you avoid these Christmas albums:

  • Christmas Disco
  • Christmas with Colonel Sanders
  • The Regis Philbin Christmas Album
  • Yuletide Disco
  • Christmas on Death Row
  • William Hung: Hung for the Holidays

Christmas Entertainment

If you aren’t really into Christmas music, play some Christmas movies for entertainment. Your playlist could include traditional holiday films like A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life and Elf.

You could also play some Christmas movies that aren’t really Christmas movies, but they are Christmas movies. For example, Die Hard isn’t billed as a Christmas movie, but it is a Christmas movie.

Whatever you do, never play a Christmas movie that has Ben Affleck in it.

Festive Food and Drink

Serve plenty of sugary foods in Christmas colors green and red. After all, the holiday season is all about getting fat.

Balance your guest’s pallets with tasty treats like green guacamole and red salsa served with chips. Make sure you have all of the holiday beverages on hand including peppermint tea, hot chocolate and eggnog.

If you want people to have fun at your party, make sure you have a keg iced down and a few bottles of vodka on standby.

Plan Your Guest List

Like with any party, your Christmas party will include the important people in your life.

Of course, it may not be a good idea to invite Sherry to the party as she just broke up with Fred, who has already been invited to the party.

Also, you might really want to invite Marty to the party, but he always winds up drinking too much and making a fool of himself.

As you can see, making a list of people not to invite to the party is important as well.

If you don’t have a hot tub, no hot tub Christmas party for you this year. We recommend you come into Spa Max after Christmas to get a great deal on a hot tub. And then throw your own hot tub Christmas party next year.
