Hot Tubs Save You from Social Media

Have you been on Facebook today? Of course you have. No doubt you have also surfed, in most cases, suffered, through Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram as well. But you are happy that you got your daily Kim Kardashian update fix. You got your daily dose of fake news from Facebook, all while complaining about the amount of data you have left. And you Instagrammed your work outfit today with the hashtag #Ihatelife.

The reason you hate life is that you are addicted to social media and it is literally ruining your life. Your eyes are barely open after turning off the alarm; everything you see is still quite fuzzy, and yet, the first thing you reach for is your smartphone to see what has been posted on Pinterest overnight. After all, you might have missed something critical in your life, like a new scrapbook photo posted by that one lady you follow who lives somewhere and probably has a real name, but you don’t care about any of that. What is important is that she followed you back and you need all of the followers you can get because that is somehow important.

Do you want to know what is important? How about the fact that you will never get true joy and happiness on social media. Facebook, Instagram and, yes, Pinterest is only bringing you down and making you a sad person.

It’s time for you to unplug and spend some quality time in the hot tub you bought at Spa Max in Corona.

Not only is soaking in a hot tub good for you as well as quite relaxing, it will keep you away from social media. There are many of you out there who doubt us when we say social media is ruining your life. For you non-believers, here are the reasons why social media is ruining your life.

You Have Become a Narcissistic Egomaniac

The fact that you waste two hours carefully doing your hair, applying makeup and picking out the perfect outfit just for a selfie really says a lot about how you enjoy spending your free time.

Actually, You Have Become a Dreadfully Boring Narcissistic Egomaniac

Just so you know, nobody gets excited when you post what you are eating for lunch or that moment when you arrive at the gym. By the way, there is nothing unique about putting avocado on toast. Just saying.

Social Comparison in an Illusion

You open up Instagram or Facebook to see what everybody else is doing only to find they are traveling, at a club meeting new people or otherwise having a jolly great time. And there you are at home, getting prepped up for a selfie or getting ready to go to work. Then it hits you: Everybody is so much happier than me.

No, they are not. In reality, when they aren’t posting their avocado-themed food, their lives are just as pathetic and boring as yours. The race to prove who leads the most exciting life is an illusion. What you see on other people’s feeds are merely a snapshot, a fleeting second, of their life. After they have posted their selfie, they eat their avocado toast and cry themselves to sleep.

You Time is Valuable, So Get Off Pinterest

With social media, it is all too easy to get caught in a “click hole.” You open up Pinterest to take a quick peek at new posts and two hours later you find yourself still browsing gruel recipes. You really should do something better with your time.

It Makes You Sloppy

You can’t write a coherent sentence anymore because everything is, like, LOL and OMG. #quitbeingstupid.

Searching for Approval

It is bad enough that you feel the need to upload a photo of yourself to social media every day, sometimes multiple times a day. What is even worse is that you wind up disappointed because not enough people are “liking” it. You look to social media for approval and become discouraged when you don’t get the attention you desired.

When you stop and think about it, that is really pathetic.

It is in your best interest to drop everything you do on social media and spend some time soaking in a hot tub. If you don’t have a hot tub, contact Spa Max and they will set you up.
